I Miss You Dad
59Today is my first Fathers Day without you.
You have been on my mind all day and I sure miss you. I always enjoyed sending you phone cards to get your phone calls every Sunday evening or whenever you felt like calling.
When I print those pictures I still try to make doubles to send you one of each. That was one thing you always enjoyed talking about. The photos of my children, grandchildren, the dogs and the cat. No matter what it made you part of our lives and helped you share it. You'd always laugh as I told you the stories of each picture. We'd go over and over them again. Sometimes I'd think again but then I would think someday I will miss this. I do too.
You loved living in Arizona and I loved my Pennsylvania mountains so we always lived far apart. Sorry you were sick and had to come stay awhile before you went back home and died but I love those last few months we had together. We shared, disagreed and learned to understand many things more.
I had you for such a short time in my life but I thank God for everyday. It was a blessing and a gift that in all my life I never dreamed of having.
So I am writing this for you and I guess for me also. I love you and miss you and hope you are having a Happy Fathers Day.

I'm so sorry about your Dad, and thanks for sharing him with us. I lost my Dad almost 20 years ago. But when I've got great news or I'm going through difficult times, I still tilt my face up to the heavens and we have a little chat.
